Re: Tamils situation Vanni reached Crisis Level; Urging to Stop the Sri Lankan State Genocides against Tamils
I want to take this opportunity to state the terrible crisis deliberately created on the innocent Tamil civilians in Vanni by the government of Sri Lankan and its armed forces. The recent, Gaza tragedy look too small, compared to what is happening in Vanni for our brethrens for past 25 days. Please break your silence and bring an end to this state enforced Sri Lankan army menace against innocent Tamils civilians in Vanni.
The Sri Lankan government forces announced 'Safety Zone' few days ago to draw innocent civilians into the so called area such as Suthanthirapuram, Udaiyaarkaddu, and Vallipuram in the Mullaitivu District. Now, these innocent civilians are being continuously shelled with heavy artilleries and multibarrels by the Sri Lankan Army. According to the government own medical officer in declare the situation in the Vanni is beyond them. I am calling immediate intervention of the international community to save these civilians from enforced genocides.
The U.N agency says situation in Mulaitivu, Vanni deteriorated to the crisis level. Today alone, at least 300 civilians were dead and over 1000 civilians are badly wounded. A government medical officer working a hospital says, him and medical staff in Vanni unable to treat the large amount of wounded civilians as medical supplies and personals are in very short supply even the hospitals are coming under terrible shell attacks.Wounded even includes Red Cross (ICRC) personals. Genocides continue unabated while the world watching silently. This cannot be accepted, it is the moral duty of the U.N to step in to save the Tamils, please do not allow another Darfur in Sri Lanka.
It is most disheartening to see thousands of our mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters,infants and children are being brutally killed by the occupying Sri Lankan security forces and we are unable to continue with our daily lives.Please use your good offices to press the Sri Lankan government to stop the war, stop the genocides of Tamils, send the international monitoring mission to save civilians, send medial staff and supply immediately as thousands are bleeding to their deaths. Please see the attached info rmation SOS call from the Mulaitivu government medical officer. I earnestly urge you to do your utmost to bring an immediate end to the genocides of Tamils by the Sri Lanka . Recognize their rights to self-determination as this is the only meaningful solution will bring end to the crisis to permanent end.
